MP House Visit to Kew Drive and Kew Crescent on 27 May 2012
It was a cloudy afternoon yesterday between 4 - 6pm. Dr Maliki went on a house visit to Kew Drive and Kew Crescent with a big group of volunteers from Limau Estate Neighbourhood Committee (LENC) (in the signature lime green t-shirt), our CCC Chairman, some Siglap CCC representatives and our agency partners.
The group knocked on the doors of 106 households in the 2 hours walk, and were warmly greeted by residents who were home. Connecting with residents of Kew Drive and Kew Crescent was a joy, with an unexpected chocolate treat from one of the residents as one of the highlights!
Photos of the visit can be viewed here:
Thanks to all our volunteers for the outreach, and to all the residents for the warm hospitality!

Bedok Reservoir Walk
It started raining at 7.30 am. Precisely the time we were gathering at Kew Avenue Playground before setting off to a morning walk at Bedok Reservoir. What a letdown!
But we were not deterred and decided to go ahead as planned. And as if rewarding us for our tenacity, it stopped raining when we arrived at Bedok Reservoir. The view of the reservoir was beautiful.! The sun was up and shining brightly and there was even a small breeze to keep us cool.
The fitter members of the group quickly started jogging while the rest took a more casually walk around the reservoir.
After a sweaty 1 hour, the group refreshed themselves with a hearty breakfast at a nearby food court,
They enjoyed the fellowship and neighbourliness and planned to join the next walk organised by the Limau Estate Gardening Club.

LENC MP Walkabout at Stratford Court on 25 March 2012
Thanks to the kind management committee at Stratford Court, we were given permission to enter the condo for Dr Maliki, our Limau Estate NC Members, representatives from Siglap CCC and sub-committees, and partnering agencies like the neighbourhood police and NEA, to visit the residents of Stratford Court.
We had a nice dialogue session with residents who came to the clubhouse before the start of the walkabout, and we've promised to help them with the issues raised. Due to time constraints, the physical visiting of residents from house to house was limited to 4 lobbies, but we certainly will be back to cover the rest of the lobbies!
See photos of the walkabout here. You might just spot yourself in it!

Citizen on Patrol/ Gardening Club Gathering
COP and Gardening Club members gathered
for a Bring your own Meal gathering on 25 March 2012. It was an event that nearly didnt happen as it started to drizzzle 10 minutes before event was due to start. Luckily, the rainy cloud passed and we were able to have food and fun and much photography before the rain came again one hour later.
Our saviour this time was Philip and Margaret who stayed nearby at Limau Terrace. They offer to let us continue the party at their house which we gladly accepted.
Dr Maliki dropped by after his House Visit to say hello to everybody and interacted with the residents

Dr Maliki along with Limau Estate NC members, as well as members of Siglap CCC and Siglap CCMC Sub-Committees, visited residents at Eastwood Green and Eastwood Walk on 11 March 2012.
It was a cool day for a walkabout, with a passing shower in between! We managed to get shelter at Clara's house midway - with homemade butter cakes too! Thanks Clara!
Residents of Eastwood Green and Eastwood Walk were mostly warm and friendly. We are looking forward to organising a street party for this area soon this year! If you'd like to join in the organising, please let us know!

Changi Point Coastal Walk
9 residents and a dog named Maggie; that's the group that responded to a call for neighbours of Limau Estate to get together and do a short walk by the sea. We are flattered that a 80 year old plus lady was gamed to do the walk.
It all began at Creek Walk where bumboats were busying ferrying people to Pulau Ubin and other islands. The path is lined with flowers in yellow and white and before you know it , you are on the beach and and seeing sail boats and a Kelong.
Time for another photograph
On the way to Clift walk and Sunset walk
U turn and double back on the same trail and we have done a total of 4.4 km in 1.5 hrs! Good exercise for the day. And happy that we got to know a few of our neighbours. The last stop-load up at the Hawker centre close by.
