Proper Waste Disposal
Dear Residents
Recently, we noticed that bags of refuse were left along the pavement outside premises instead of being placed in the refuse bins provided. As a result, rodents were attracted by the smell of the food waste and were seen gnawing the bags to get to the food remains. Rodents can transmit infectious diseases. In addition, they can gnaw your household furniture, building structures a well as cables and wires which could lead to potential fire hazards.Hence, we would like to seek residents’ cooperation to dispose of bags of refuse properly into the refuse bins provided by the Public Waste Collector (PWC) for collection. Should you need to dispose of any bulky waste, please contact your regular waste contractor or any of the PWCs listed on the “Guide to Proper Waste Disposal” flyer.
Let’s do our part to keep our environment clean and green.
We thank you for your cooperation.
This message is brought to you by Siglap Grassroots’ Organisations and the National Environment Agency (NEA).
Dog Poo
A clean city is a strong reflection of our civic values. Every individual plays an important part in keeping the environment clean.
Recently, we received a number of feedback on dog owners leaving behind their dogs’ poo in public areas in Siglap Estate. Animal waste such as dogs’ poo, if left uncleared, will cause smell nuisance and may transmit infectious diseases.
It is an offence to leave behind your dogs’ poo. A first-time offender can be fined up to $1,000. We strongly urge dog owners and their domestic helpers to act responsibly, pick up their dogs’ poo and dispose of them properly into litterbins.
When walking your dog in public places, bring along a small plastic bag to clear your dog’s poo. You can also use a piece of newspaper for your dog to poo on so that you can conveniently fold and dispose of it into a bin.
Such considerate acts will help keep the environment clean and hygienic.
Let’s be responsible dog owners.
